Mini Excavator Safety and Efficiency Using Tips

Time: 2025-12-30

Omida, in an effort to further promote construction machinery safety knowledge and enhance operator skills, recently shared an educational activity on excavator operation basics. Through this article, we aim to help you master safety protocols and efficient working techniques.

I. Safety Operations Must Not Be Overlooked

Before excavator operation, conduct a comprehensive inspection including hydraulic fluid levels, fuel quantity, and the condition of equipment fasteners to ensure no leaks or loose components. During operation, personnel are strictly prohibited from entering the bucket's operational range. When rotating, observe surrounding obstacles to avoid the risk of overturning caused by sudden stops or sharp turns. Additionally, after completing work, lock the cab to prevent accidents caused by accidental operation by others.

II. Efficient Operation Techniques

1. Optimal Digging Angle: Maintaining a 30-degree angle between the bucket and the ground significantly reduces resistance and enhances digging efficiency. Maximum digging force is achieved when the boom is perpendicular (90 degrees) to the bucket cylinder.

2. Rock Excavation Guidelines: Avoid direct impact on hard rock. Position the machine along natural fracture lines, insert teeth into cracks, and apply force gradually.

3. Truck Loading Techniques: After the truck is stationary, load loose materials like sand first, followed by large rocks to minimize impact on the truck bed.

III. Daily Maintenance and Emergency Procedures

After each workday, clean oil residue from equipment. Regularly inspect brake and steering systems. Immediately shut down machinery and report for inspection if hydraulic system malfunctions or engine overheating occurs. The Omida team emphasizes: “Standardized operation and regular maintenance are key to extending equipment lifespan and ensuring construction safety.”
